Territorial Acknowledgment
St George’s Cadboro Bay respectfully acknowledges the land we stand and pray on. The soil here holds the history and footsteps of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. On the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, we uphold the hopeful and healing spirit of reconciliation. We promise to walk with truth and love in those footprints that connect and ground us. |

Wonderful Wednesdays: What Does Easter Mean to You?Wednesday March 26th - 9:45am What Does Easter Mean to You? For the third and final week, we will explore what Easter means to each of us. Is resurrection real or metaphorical? We will discuss substituional atonement, Christus Victor, penal substitution, and reconciliation theory. We will also talk about sin and miracles, end of life, and our beliefs in Heaven and Hell. No right answers, no wrong questions. We are all on the journey. We hope to see you for this last session. GVAT Listening Campaign 2025Table Talks - Tuesday, March 25th - 1:00pm Greater Victoria Acting Together (GVAT) is a coalition of diverse organizations from across Greater Victoria that work together to advocate for issues of common concern. Our Diocese of Islands and Inlets is a member organization of GVAT. Together, we are building a fairer, more sustainable Victoria region. GVAT is currently engaging its member organizations and beyond in a Listening Campaign, with the goal of identifying the issues we need to work on together. Following the campaign, we will develop teams to research and initiate focused action on particular issues. Discerning the most important issues in our time and place is the critical first step. What are our most heartfelt anxieties? What keeps us up at night? The format will be that of "table talks." Participants will have the opportunity to share stories about their most important concerns, with the focus not on church-issues per se, but rather our concerns about the communities and environment we live in. You are invited to join for about an hour at St. George's in Cadboro Bay; Tuesday, March 25 at 1:00pm Please indicate your intention to attend by contacting Amanda in St. George's parish office: 250-472-2090; admin@stgeorgecadborobay.ca This is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as Anglicans in Greater Victoria, to be the church, alongside others in our communities. We look forward to seeing you there! For more infomation visit:

A Lenten SeriesStaying Grounded in Times of Chaos Lent is the season of 40 days leading up to Easter. This season is a time of intentional reflection when we make space in our lives for God to change our hearts in preparation for the new life that awaits us in the resurrection we celebrate at Easter. This year we will share brief videos in a series called Staying Grounded in Times of Chaos. Those who have gone before us have lived in chaotic times as well and passed wisdom on to us as we follow Christ today. In this series, voices across our diocese will share practices from our tradition that help us live out our faith when the world feels crazy. We begin our series with Brendon Neilson, Executive Director. To begin watching the series, please click on the link below. A new video will be released every Wednesday between now and Holy Week. |

Community Events Campaign
From Shrove Tuesday pancakes and regular Wednesday night community dinners, and on to Maundy Thursday (April 17) when we commemorate the Last Supper, and beyond - we have many opportunities to eat together... this season and throughout the year. "How do we pay for all that?!?" You wonder? Our funding model for our social and community events within and beyond the parish is quite simply that we ask you to contribute to our "Community Events Fund" with a tax-receiptable gift. You may do so once per year, or on an on-going basis. Now is a great time! This can be done by indicating so on your regular envelope or cheque, by using the "Community Events" envelopes (please include your regular envelope number) or online through the "donate" button on the website (please choose "Community Events" tab). This approach allows us to offer generous hospitality to all who come through the doors and frees us from focusing our events on fundraising. Please invite your friends and neighbours to join us anytime, without asking for a little cash out of their pockets. We are grateful for your presence and participation at St. George's, and we look forward to sharing a meal together. |
