Territorial Acknowledgment
St George’s Cadboro Bay respectfully acknowledges the land we stand and pray on. The soil here holds the history and footsteps of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. On the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, we uphold the hopeful and healing spirit of reconciliation. We promise to walk with truth and love in those footprints that connect and ground us. |

Sound systemConnecting with worship We know that hearing all that goes on at worship can be troublesome - or touch and go - for some people. Our system includes a "T Coil" induction loop system that some hearing aids can connect with directly. If you're having trouble hearing during worship, please connect with Michael Marriott (michael_marriott@telus.net), who may be able to help get you better connected. |

Centering PrayerTuesday, June 25, 2024 Join us for a moment of Centering Prayer this month on Tuesdays, at 4pm in The Orchard Dining Room. Our Centering Prayer group meets every week. Each meeting opens with a short reading, followed by a chant or prayer. We then practice 20 minutes of silence as an opportunity to move into profound silence which creates a spiritual space to rest in God. After the 20 minutes, the practice is closed by saying The Grace. Photo by Nishta Sharma on Unsplash |

Soup Making MinistrySoup available for parishioners Last month a group got together and produced 44 litres of soup. As it was the first soup making ministry, we would like to offer it to those in the Parish and the Orchard that would appreciate a warm bowl of soup. There is a non spicy vegetarian soup and a moderately spicy coconut thai chicken soup. Signi has also made 6 litres of cauliflower soup. There is a sign up sheet by the posters in the Orchard and the church, or you can email ginnygglover@gmail.com to indicate you would like some soup. Also if you know anyone in the Parish, Orchard or Cadboro Bay community that would appreciate a litre of soup, please let us know. Image by Ella Olsson |

It is so nice to have flowers on our Altar again after the Lenten season. Just a reminder that we would love to have donations for our flower fund so we can keep providing flowers, both for the Altar and so we can share them with parishioners after services. Please contact Sandra Moore 250-721-1920 if you wish to have a dedication in the bulletin. Donations to our general flower fund can be dropped in the collection plate at any time. DEVELOPMENTS FOLLOWING THE WORK OF THE ARC (ASSET REVIEW COMMITTEE)
We recently received the news that we did not receive the CMHC seed funding grant we had applied for. We declined to pursue an option to apply for a loan instead, as there was a short timeline to make a decision. We expect to receive the Depreciation Reports on our buildings by the end of June, at which time we will be in a position to consider next steps. To read about the latest developments, please click here. |
