A note from Leslie!
Thank you to the St. George's community and especially Joy, Gary, Vicky and Jeannine for the wonderful send off. I was so moved by people's generosity, kind words and the love that was expressed. Though I will miss my parish family, I always know I have a church to call home. Blessings to all of you. Leslie

Fall Message from Chancel Guild
We would like to remind everyone that they can have memorial flowers placed in the church and Sandra Browning-Moore is the contact person for that. Please contact the Church Office for Sandra's contact details.
Thanksgiving is on the way! This means we will be looking for food and flowers to decorate the church for Thanksgiving Sunday (October 10th). We will be setting up a time on the morning before Thanksgiving Sunday to receive donations and do the decorating. We would love to have help from members of the parish on that day!
All food donations will be given to the Shelbourne Community Kitchen.

Vaccinations and Worship, etc.
Bishop Anna has sent us a letter to outline how the next few months will look with vaccinations and church functions (worship, meetings, weddings, etc.) You can read the full letter by clicking this link. --- While the province is not requiring proof of vaccination for worship, in consultation with the COVID taskforce, archdeacons, and the officers of Synod, Bishop Anna has decided that beginning Sunday, September 12 unvaccinated individuals over the age of 12 will be asked to participate virtually only for the next few months, while vaccination rates continue to improve. We will not be asking for proof of vaccination at the doors of Sunday worship and we will trust folks will respect these restrictions and choose to participate virtually. ------ Through all of this, it is critical that we treat each other with respect and dignity, regardless of whether we agree or disagree with these changes to our common life. Bullying, harrassment, and threats will not be tolerated by anyone. If you feel unsafe, please report to Leadership Team (Jeannine, Gary or Joy). Read the entire letter at the red button link below.

September Outreach: Rainbow Kitchen
The United Nations’ Committee on World Food Security defines food security as the means that all people, at all times, have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their food preferences and dietary needs for an active and healthy life. Rainbow Kitchen strives to increase food security through various programs throughout the Capital Regional District. ******************* · In 2001 parishioners from a small Anglican Church Hall on the border of Vic West and Esquimalt were able to provide coffee, tea and sandwiches one day a week. · In 2010, the Victoria Rainbow Kitchen Society was established as a registered Society & Charitable Organization! Two years later, Rainbow Kitchen expanded to their current home at 500 Admirals Rd in Esquimalt to meet the increasing need. ************************************************* · Fast forward to today and Rainbow Kitchen has grown to be regarded as a hub for food security programming in the Capital Regional District. Providing free hot meals and facilitating food sharing to anyone in need. · 200+ Volunteers / 120,000 meals per year / 10,000 + lbs food rescued every month. ************************************************************ The Social Justice and Outreach Team ask you to consider supporting this agency during September…. remembering with thanks the St George’s members that volunteer on a regular basis at The Rainbow Kitchen.
