The Shelbourne Community Kitchen is a warm and welcoming community food centre that provides fresh and dignified food support for over 1,500 adults and 500+ children who are living in food insecure households across Greater Victoria.
- Every summer, the organization sees an increase in families accessing their food support programs, however this is also a time when the supplies of non-perishable food donations are at an all time low. With the current cost of food and inflation, they are registering an average of 50 new people each month.
- Your generous support will help to keep healthy food accessible to our wonderful community of families and individuals during the summer season.
- Starting in early 2024, they began the installation of the long-awaited commercial kitchen. Despite the facility being under renovation, they have continued to provide over 400 grocery hampers to their participants each month, as well as offering a variety of food skills and gardening programming.
…. Please note that along with regular items, extra granola bars and juice boxes are always appreciated during the school summer break.
As always, the Outreach Team will continue to collect your non-perishable donations after the weekly Sunday Service and deliver them to the Shelbourne Kitchen.
