Rock Bay Landing Emergency Shelter has been struggling with a towel shortage for quite some time now, and we are hoping to replenish our stock.
While this Cool Aid location has only been able to offer limited services to the public since the beginning of the pandemic, the hygiene program has been consistently offered because it is imperative to the health and wellbeing of our neighbours. This program provides showers to the public every day, and that includes fresh towels that we launder. Unfortunately, we are so low on towels that we have been providing our clients with pillowcases to dry themselves with over the past few days. Our hygiene program also sees a major increase in the summer months, so with warmer weather on the horizon, we are hoping to get prepared well in advance to be able to maintain this offering. Everyone deserves the right to a shower and a dry, clean towel. Please share this with your community and if you are able, donate these hygiene essentials to Rock Bay Landing.
Towels can be dropped off at 535 Ellice Street ideally from 8 am - 6 pm. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, please call ahead to 250-383-1951 so that our staff can greet you outside. Thank you.
