The St. George Community Garden flourished through the spring and summer of 2020, allowing community members to cultivate their gardens and spend time outdoors in the fresh air.
While we have not met together as a group (as we have done on past years’ summer nights), we have quietly endeavoured together, and the garden is in wonderful shape through full utilization of the private plots, eradication of invasive grasses and the addition of fresh wood chips on garden paths. .
Even though we have a waiting list in place for the 23 plots, individuals are welcome to join the Community Garden by paying the $10/year membership fee; this allows members to take advantage of the communal plots’ prodigious fruit production and exercise green thumbs in the shared beds.
