Six years after the Truth and Reconciliation Commission released its 94 Calls to Action, the vast majority of them have yet to be fully implemented by our Federal Government.
Six years on from the Government confirming its commitment, much is still to be done…. Your St. George's Social Justice and Outreach Team has collectively been working on an approach to continue to draw attention to these 94 Calls to Action.
We have decided that one way would be to send letters requesting continued action. This request could go to the Prime Minister, Ministers of Indigenous Relations and/or local MP’s. You also may wish to send a copy of your letter to our Church leaders.
This personal letter or email could express concerns regarding the urgency to plan and implement all 94 Calls to Action.
We have drawn up a sample letter that we hope will assist you. Please use all, or part of it as inspiration, and of course we encourage your own personal approach.
