The Men's Breakfast's speaker on Saturday, March 15th will be John Borrows. John is new to St George's. John is a UVIC University professor, Canada's pre-eminent legal scholar, and a global leader in Indigenous legal traditions and Aboriginal rights. John holds the Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Law at the University of Victoria as well as the Law Foundation Chair in Aboriginal Justice and Governance.

John's presentation will consider the sources of Indigenous peoples' laws and their relationship to other Canadian Laws. Professor Borrows will give examples of Indigenous laws which flow from their sacred, environmental, deliberative, positivistic and customary sources. He will place these examples in relationship to Canada’s constitutional, legislative and case law frameworks. Professor Borrows will also discuss the spiritual dimensions of Indigenous peoples' laws. He is also happy to discuss his experience as the past chair of the Victoria Multifaith Society,
