This 4-part workshop is designed for people of all ages who are new to the contemplative path and wish to learn more, or simply want a refresher in contemplative practices, or would like to spend time with others on the contemplative path. All are welcome.
The workshop fee is $80 and “paying from the heart” (paying whatever you can) is welcome.
Workshop dates are the first four Wednesdays of October: 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd. Workshop times are: 7-8:30 pm PDT. The workshop will be recorded and a link sent if requested to those for whom this is an inconvenient time.
This Zoom-offered workshop will be held in four, 1½ hour sessions. About mid-way through each session there will be a 10-minute break for personal care and refreshing.
Session 1 will offer an introduction to the contemplative path and the practices of centering prayer, chanting, and lectio divina will be taught/shared.
Session 2 will explore the heart working in concert, and practices of inner awareness, including an embodiment practice.
Session 3 will offer a short discussion on consciousness and the use of contemplative practices to bring a deeper connection to our consciousness.
Session 4 will offer a discussion of unitive or non-dual consciousness, and the fascinating but little known Gospel of Thomas, which is a favourite resource of contemplatives.
All sessions will give a taste of different facets of contemplative spirituality.
