Pastoral Care is the care of members of the church body, performed in difficult times, to help remind parishioners of God’s presence and the many vehicles of God’s love by offering our time and ourselves through support for each other. It is not limited to the work of ordained clergy, but is also performed by lay members dedicated to working toward supporting the needs of our growing community. Members of The Pastoral Care Team perform home visits to individuals in private homes or the hospital (acute or long term care). While home visits are foremost about providing some company and support in difficult times, the visits may also include assisted prayers, the administering of Home Communion, and the distribution of Prayer Shawls. Home visits are a vital link between parishioners and the parish when parishioners are unable to attend services. To arrange a pastoral visit from the Pastoral Care Team or a member of the clergy, please contact the church office or the team facilitator below.

The Team will also provide prayer support as requested. St. George’s holds a Prayer Ministry in the chapel during the 10AM Sunday service and prayer by request (Prayers of the People) at all services.  Additionally, the Prayer Chain can be accessed by calling the church office.

Interested in joining the team? We can provide training for those who wish to participate in pastoral visiting. (Please note: all Pastoral Care Team members must pass a Criminal Record Check, including the Vulnerable Persons Sector, and take the Sanctuary Program).

The Pastoral Care Team Facilitator is Veronica Druce: 250-589-1790

The Quiet Space Garden

stgeorge_cadborobay@shaw.ca_20150512_150027_003“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” -Mark 6:31

The primary vision of The Quiet Garden Movement is to initiate and resource a network of local opportunities for prayer, silence, reflection and the appreciation of beauty; for learning about Christian spirituality; and for experiencing creativity and healing in the context of God’s love. Individuals generously make their gardens available for others to enjoy, and everyone is welcome. The Quiet Space Garden is offered on the last Saturday of every month, between 9:30am and 12:30pm, at the home of Elizabeth Eede. Elizabeth’s home is registered with the Quiet Garden Trust of England, a non-profit organization that supports the ministry. You can learn more about The Quiet Garden Movement and the Trust by visiting: www.quietgarden.org.

Please confirm your visit with Elizabeth Eede before attending.

Healing Ministry

“For I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15:26IMG_4737

The healing ministry of the laying on of hands, or anointing with oil, and prayer for healing has been integral to the ministry of the Christian community from the beginning.

St. George’s offers healing ministries that are gentle and safe for all ages and allow one to go within and accept God as partner in the healing process. As the receiver all you need to do is be present and open to the healing grace of God’s Spirit. Sessions are offered every 4th Friday and Saturday of the month by appointment from 2 – 4 pm.

For more information or to book an appointment please contact Elizabeth Eede 250-477-6577.
