The October Reflections will feature French organist, Nicolas Kilhoffer, who will be playing music by J.S. Bach, Louis Vierne, and Camille Saint-Saëns. Born in 2002 in Eastern France, Nicolas Kilhoffer (www.nicolaskilhoffer.com) first studied piano at the age of 7. He began organ lessons at the age of 10, and was admitted in 2017 to the Strasbourg Conservatory where he studied organ, piano and harmony, graduating with highest honours in 2024. Since then he’s been performing concerts regularly, including in France, the US, Australia and Kenya, and attending and teaching organ masterclasses.
Nicolas is currently on an exchange semester at UVic in the business program during the fall of 2024, and is excited to play our Casavant organ for the October Reflections Service.
Each month's Reflections features music along with poems and prayers. Enjoy music in the beautiful candlelit ambiance of St. Luke's at dusk.

About This Service
Offering a combination of inspirational poems, thoughtful prose passages, untraditional prayers, interspersed with complementary music, St. Luke's Reflections Service focuses on spirituality. Drawing on the tradition of evensong, the service recognizes our need for stillness and connection to the soul at the end of the day.
Referencing the seasons, the service acknowledges the liturgical calendar through both the words and the music. The theme, introduced through the words, is given added depth through the music. The gorgeous ambiance of the softly lit church adds to the contemplative atmosphere that places us in a state of prayer. Reflections provides another way to encounter the Divine. Please come and be a part of this unique experience.
Donations to support this innovative venture and its continuance will be gratefully received at the door.
We thank you in advance for your donations.
